Car crashed into US President Joe Biden’s security convoy

Biden and his wife Jil were leaving Biden’s campaign office following dinner when the car crashed into a waiting SUV belonging to Biden’s security column, an eyewitness told the Archyde.com news agency on Sunday (local time). Biden and the first lady are doing well. According to US intelligence, the collision was not intentional, CNN reported.

It had been raining heavily. The president and first lady had left the Biden-Harris 2024 campaign headquarters in downtown Wilmington at 8:07 p.m. (2:07 ET) following having dinner with members of his re-election team when the incident unfolded occurred, a White House press release said. Shortly following Biden answered a reporter’s question, a silver sedan with Delaware plates collided with an SUV blocking the motorcade at the intersection opposite the headquarters entrance.

There was a loud bang, the media reported. Biden, who had just spoken to reporters, stood in front of the vehicle with a surprised expression on his face before officers led him to his vehicle. Jill Biden was already sitting there at the time.

The security guards quickly went into action, pushed the car away and surrounded its driver with weapons. This arose. The motorcade then left with Biden. The SUV in question was not the vehicle intended for Biden.
