Christmas is a festival of hope. What does this mean in a time of crisis and uncertainty? asks Benno Elbs, Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Feldkirch in Vorarlberg and Apostolic Administrator of the Archdiocese of Vaduz, and puts at the center of his reflections a prophetic voice from the Hebrew Bible, which comes through the Advent season accompanies Christmas. It is the voice of the prophet Isaiah, who lived several hundred years before Jesus from Nazareth and who even then created a timeless vision of peace: the image of a good future in which people are ready to learn peace anew side by side.
