Hamas’ Biggest Tunnel Uncovered in Gaza: Israel Defense Forces

Gaza – As Israel-Hamas clashes continue, Israel says it has discovered Hamas’ largest tunnel in the Gaza Strip. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that the entrance to the underground tunnel, which stretches for four kilometers with a wide network, is only 400 meters from the Eriz border. The IDF has also shared a video of the tunnel through their official X account.

It is reported that small vehicles can pass through the tunnel. The Israeli army said that years of effort and billions of rupees are behind the construction of this tunnel. The Israeli army also says that Mohammed Yahian, the brother of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, led the construction.

Drainage system, electricity, ventilation, communication system and rails are all inside the tunnel. The floor is made of earth and the walls are made of concrete. According to the Israeli army, the entrance is made of a 1.5 cm thick metal cylinder.

A video released by the Israeli military, which it says was filmed by Hamas, shows a small construction vehicle passing through the tunnel. The video also shows workers digging the earth with some tools. Israeli forces said they also found a cache of weapons inside the tunnel.
