Fortnite’s popular annual event, Winterfest, is back in 2023, and it’s one of the most anticipated events every year.
This year’s update brought new Christmas-themed features. These include two free skins and 14 free daily gifts for all players.
However, many players have had difficulty finding the infamous Sergeant Frimas, who has returned to the island. A bug even caused him to completely disappear from the game. Epic Games corrected the problem and moved Sergeant Frimas to a different part of the map.

Sergeant Frimas is at the heart of two specific Winterfest 2023 quests which can earn you 15,000 XP each. Here is where to find Sergeant Frimas in Fortnite and how to complete his two quests.
To find Sergeant Frimas in Fortnite, you need to go to the new Winterburg Lair, which is a small island located to the north, at the very top of the Battle Royale map.

We recommend starting your Battle Royale match then landing directly at this remote location. It is slightly northeast of the place called Classy Courts, where it is surrounded by water. You can very easily cross by zip line.

Sergeant Frimas can then be seen walking on the ice around the Recovery Van which is located in the center of the island. To interact with the NPC, simply approach him. He will then greet you and then throw you a gift.
Sergeant Frimas does not attack players unless he is attacked himself. Ultimately, although he is quite intimidating, he is practically harmless.

Please note that he might previously be found driving the main roads of the island in his truck. However, due to a bug, his truck was completely removed and it can now only be found in Winterburg.

How to collect an item inside a gift in Fortnite
To get the reward from a gift thrown by Sergeant Frimas, you must use your trusty pickaxe to open it. You will then get the loot rewards from each gift.
If you succeed, you will have completed the quest “ Obtain an item from a gift thrown by Sergeant Frimas “. You will then receive 15,000 XP.
How to Emote with Holiday Boxy or Sergeant Frimas in Fortnite
To emote with Festive Card or Sergeant Frimas, you must find one of them on the map, then approach the NPC and do one of your Emotes in front of them.

To find Cartonne Festive, simply go to the Ship It! located east of Pleasant Piazza on the map. We recommend starting your Battle Royale match and landing directly there.
