Deputy Secretary for Administration Zhuo Yongxing said that since the introduction of various measures to attract talents from various places, the response has been very satisfactory. As of November this year, a total of more than 200,000 applications have been received for various talent entry programs, of which more than 120,000 have been approved. In the first 11 months of this year, more than 80,000 talents with approved visas have arrived in Hong Kong, far exceeding the target of attracting at least 35,000 talents every year. Talents have also brought their families to settle in Hong Kong. This year, a total of 68,000 people have arrived in Hong Kong. Dependents arrive in Hong Kong.
Zhuo Yingxing said in his speech at the dinner of the “Hong Kong Highly Talented Talent Service Association” that these outstanding foreign talents and their families will have a very positive impact on Hong Kong’s population structure and labor force.
He also pointed out that with the completion of the “Hong Kong Talent Services Office” at the end of October this year, more work of the SAR government to recruit talents is being carried out in full swing. As a dedicated unit of the government to formulate talent recruitment strategies and support talents in Hong Kong, the Talent Office provides one-stop services with the goal of assisting talents in Hong Kong to develop in the long-term in Hong Kong.
