Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. slammed his helmet to the ground late in the fourth quarter as his team was completing its win over the Arizona Cardinals during Sunday’s Week 8 road win at State Farm Stadium. He was frustrated with himself due to failing to secure the football on four separate occassions.
Beckham, 30, was especially irritated in that specific moment because Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson targeted him in the end zone, but a defensive pass interference saw his moment to shine slip away.
He has yet to score a touchdown this season, but every time OBJ is on the field, Jackson looks his way. This game, however, OBJ finished with a blank statline on four targets.
It’s only a matter of time before Beckham has a breakout game and finally become fantasy relevant. His frustration on the sideline is also a sign of wanting to be better.
Odell Beckham Jr. will improve
Jackson, 26, has a couple options in tight end Mark Andrews and rookie receiver Zay Flowersbut OBJ will improve as the second half of the season progresses.
Beckham is less than 40% rostered in fantasy football leagues and will likely be even more available following this week.
He is a “pick up and stash” option from the waiver wire to have as a WR4 in a “break in case of emergency” situation. Ravens boast a 6-2 record, don’t have a Bye until Week 13 and face the Seattle Seahawks next Sunday.
