The Moto G14 is the most basic model in the line that arrived on the national market in recent months. Will it be another good bet for an entry-level cell phone from Motorola? Let’s check it out.
Motorola’s new basic comes with an updated design and in line with the brand’s recent launches. It arrived on the market in two color options with different finishes, despite both being made entirely of plastic. The difference is that the lighter one comes with a finish that imitates leather.
We have a 6.5-inch screen with Full HD+ resolution and an IPS LCD panel with a refresh rate of just 60 Hz. It’s a little disappointing not to see a 90 Hz screen. At least in terms of sound, we have stereo audio with Dolby Atmos support and sound that does not distort at maximum volume and has a good balance between bass and treble.
The Moto G14 is equipped with Unisoc’s Tiger T616 chip with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It delivers decent performance with simple day-to-day tasks, but is not capable of keeping many apps open at the same time. The 5,000 mAh battery lasted 23 hours in our lengthy usage test and takes almost 2 hours to recharge.
The photographic set consists of a 50 MP camera and a simpler 2 MP sensor for macros. On the front we have an 8 MP camera. The photographic quality of the G14 is not enough to excite. It’s the typical cell phone that only does the basics, being able to record good photos in favorable light situations. The camcorder records in Full HD with the rear and front. The quality is a little lower than what we see in the photos, but not to the point of being disposable in darker places.
