Taiwanese billiards star Yang Qingshun died of lung cancer, bringing another bad news to the billiards world. Mika Immonen, a famous Finnish pool player who has played in Taiwan many times, revealed on his personal Facebook that he has stage IV cancer. He said he will be optimistic, receive treatment, and hope to be active once more as soon as possible. .

Immonan, who has a cool playing style and is nicknamed the “Iceman”, is the champion of many international events such as the 2001 World No. 9-Ball Championship, the 2009 World No. 10-Ball Championship, and the 2009 “Champion of Champions”. He has come to Taiwan several times to compete and has had many wonderful matches with Taiwanese players, and he is still active in the football world. On the evening of December 15th, Taiwan time, Imonnan revealed bad news on Facebook. During his participation in the All-Japan Pool Championship in November, he might not sleep at night due to severe physical pain. With the help of Japanese player Naoyuki Oi, he was sent to the emergency room. A series of tests followed, and ultimately biopsies and imaging revealed stage 4 cancer.

The 51-year-old Imeng Nan reported that his oncologist said that even though his condition was not serious, his type of cancer responded well to clinical treatments. He himself mentioned that it was foreseeable that a difficult course of treatment was waiting for him, and he hoped to be active once more and return to the court as soon as possible.

“I am currently under good care and am in a very optimistic mood!” Imengnan did not forget to comfort all those who care regarding him. He also thanked his relatives, friends, fans, and sponsors for their support, and said, “I can’t survive without you.”

He finally said that he loves billiards, the sports community, and all the fans, and he can’t wait to return to the court full of energy.
