“At one point we had 60 patients simultaneously on respirators, it was the most dramatic moment; the doctors were passing the guard and crying because 5 or 6 patients had died” Diaz said.

Díaz, who was deputy director of Rawson between 1999 and 2012, and director from 2019 to 2023, said that he will continue to provide care in his private office.
