After 03:00 on December 15, the State Attorney General, Diana Salazar, asked national judge Felipe Córdova to order the preventive detention of the president of the Judiciary Council, Wilman Terán, and 29 other people, within of the case called Metastasis, which investigates the alleged crime of organized crime related to drug trafficking.
He also requested that his accounts be retained and that he be prohibited from selling his assets.
Meanwhile, for Ronald G., another of the defendants, house arrest was requested for being an older adult.
During the hearing for the formation of charges, which took place following 9:30 p.m. on December 14, the prosecutor described what would be a large network of corruption that would have operated through judges, fiscal agents, police, judicial servants, prison guides , private lawyers and more people to favor Leandro Norero, alias ‘El Patrón’, as well as his relatives involved in criminal cases.
Regarding Terán, Salazar said that his participation in the alleged network was while he was serving as a judge of the National Court of Justice.
That a trusted official of Terán, Álex P. (also detained), met with Hélice A, alias ‘Estimado’, Norero’s lawyer. The meeting would have taken place at a time when in the room directed by Wilman Terán he was going to hear regarding a protection action that sought the release of Israel N., brother of alias El Patrón.
In addition, prosecutor Salazar pointed out that chats were found that would compromise Álex P. with Norero’s lawyer, where they mentioned coordination with Wilman Terán.
Judge Córdova must decide whether or not to accept Salazar’s request. (YO)
