Visa Waivers for Indian and Taiwanese Travelers to Thailand and Malaysia, Plus Kenya’s New Digital Entry Platform

Recently, Thailand and Malaysia have waived visa for those arriving from India. Indians have been given the opportunity to travel to Thailand without a visa till May 2024. A senior official in Thailand said that people from Taiwan can also use this opportunity.

Those arriving from India and Taiwan are allowed to spend 30 days in Thailand. India ranks fourth in the number of tourists visiting Thailand. 1.2 million people came to Thailand from India this year alone. Malaysia, China and South Korea are on the first, second and third positions. Thailand is expecting 28 million visitors this year alone as the Christmas and New Year holidays arrive.

After Thailand visa waiver, Malaysia also waived the visa. Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said that tourists from India will be allowed to stay for 30 days without a visa starting December 1, Bloomberg reported. He added that only security screening would be sufficient for those from India. This facility will also be available for travelers from China. The new move is part of efforts to achieve better growth in the tourism sector.

Now the African country of Kenya has also waived the visa. Visitors from all corners of the world can now visit Kenya without the need for a visa. The law will come into effect from January. This was announced by President William Ruto. Foreigners will be allowed entry through the new digital platform. With the new decision, it is expected that there will be a significant increase in the number of tourists coming to the country. Kenya is home to some of the most famous wildlife sanctuaries on the African continent, such as the Maasai Mara, Ambosali and Savo.
