Abdulaziz Attiya, the Kuwaiti broadcaster and presenter of the “Derby” program, sparked a heated debate in his latest episode, by discussing allegations that Al-Hilal Saudi Club received apparent arbitration preferences in the Saudi League, which it currently leads with a comfortable margin over its closest competitors, Al-Nasr and Al-Ahly.
During the program, Attiya touched on the role of video technology (VAR) in saving Al-Hilal on many occasions, awarding it multiple penalty kicks, and he cited a comment by a Saudi media personality, whose name was not mentioned, regarding the large number of penalty kicks in favor of Al-Hilal.
These comments sparked controversy among the program’s guests, as opinions varied between those who believed that Al Hilal received clear refereeing compliments, and others who believed that the team deserved to win thanks to its talented stars without the need for any external assistance.
Attia also added more excitement to the episode by wishing to watch one match in which Al Hilal wins deservedly without relying on video technology (VAR).

It is worth noting that Al-Hilal is currently at the top of the Saudi Professional League table, ahead by 7 points over its closest competitor, Al-Nasr Club, especially following its recent victory over Al-Alamy in the Riyadh derby with a score of (3-0).
Hundreds of Al-Hilal fans responded angrily to the Kuwaiti journalist, as one of them said, “Al-Hilal is a crown above your head, and whoever seeks fame talks regarding Al-Hilal,” and another added, “It is your fault, Al-Hilal, that you are at the top and win all the matches.”
