Journey to the South Pole: Luc Jacquet, meet on familiar ground

Luc Jacquet is a nature lover. He grew up in Ain, at an altitude of 1,000 meters, a couple of old farmers acted as adoptive grandparents: “I was going to look following the cows, make hay […] they passed on to me the taste of the earth. » While he was preparing a DEA on natural and mountain environments, he came across an advert: “Researching biologist who is afraid of nothing, ready to leave for fourteen months at the end of the world”. Armed with his 35mm camera, he returns from Antarctica with his hard drive full of images of penguins. A few years later, he won the Oscar for best documentary with “March of the Emperor”, a global success. He returns today with a new film entitled “Journey to the South Pole”, in addition to an exhibition “Terra incognita, rendez-vous au bout du monde” which is being held at the Musée des Confluences in Lyon, until March 3 2024. Luc Jacquet is our guest.

Political crisis: and in the end, is it the National Rally that wins?

Supported by the left, the motion to reject the immigration bill adopted on Monday December 11 also seems to benefit the National Rally. The party is taking advantage of the political crisis which has opened at the top of the State to push its advantage: since Monday, Marine Le Pen has been calling for a dissolution of the National Assembly, and Jordan Bardella has said he is ready to “be Prime Minister” in the event of cohabitation. Will the RN inevitably be the big winner of the political crisis? Is its demonization complete? In any case, the latest annual political barometer of “World” is eloquent: for the first time, a majority of respondents believe that the RN does not “represent a danger to democracy” and that the RN “has the capacity to participate in a government “. We debate it.
