Three months following its launch, an analysis of the front camera of the iPhone 15 Pro revealed the excellent performance of the smartphone, putting it on par with its bigger brother, the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The results were released today by DXOMARK.
The device, which features the same selfie camera and is powered by the same chipset as the more expensive model, achieved consistent photo and video results during the evaluation: they were 145 e 156 points, respectively.
According to DXOMARK, the highlights of the front camera include the 12MP sensor, the ƒ/1.9 aperture lens and autofocus capabilities. Another standout feature is 4K video recording at different rates — ranging from 24 to 60 frames per second.
The analysis points out that the iPhone 15 Pro stood out in the evaluation with its precise exposure control, offering a wide dynamic range in photos and videos. Its autofocus was fast and reliable, maintaining sharp images with depth of field.
Notably, the device captured minute details in good lighting conditions, ensuring clarity in photos and videos. Finally, the stabilization mechanisms were effective, providing stable images, even in movement.
DXOMARK highlighted areas of improvement for the iPhone 15 Pro, citing persistent noise in some photos and glitches in color representation. There were also small fluctuations in sharpness in videos, especially during movement.
