The town of Payandé, in the municipality of San Luis (Tolima), is celebrating a decisive milestone for the health of its more than 3,000 residents. This involves the remodeling and equipping of the primary care center, which will offer medical care for the urban and rural areas of that town 45 minutes from Ibagué.
Thanks to the investments made by the Cemex company, in alliance with the community and local authorities, the medical center was equipped with hospital equipment such as blood pressure monitors, scales, stethoscopes, computer equipment, printers, among others. In addition, the dentistry unit and other supplies necessary to provide the service were updated.
As for the civil works, the facilities were remodeled, access ramps, new painting and lighting were integrated, to give the building the appropriate characteristics for attention. According to Sergio Fernández, manager of the Serafín Montaña Cuellar hospital in San Luis, to which this health center is affiliated, “The transformation of this place has been total. We now have remodeled facilities and new medical equipment, which allow us to care for a broader spectrum of patients and have greater precision. Thanks to these investments, today we are able to offer better quality health services to the inhabitants of Payandé.”.
The remodeling and civil works process was carried out by the Payandé company, Servicios Integrales M&O, selected following evaluating four proposals from local companies. This contractor met the technical and regulatory requirements for the development of the work and generated nearly 10 construction jobs.

The Payandé Health Center is located on Carrera 5 and Calle 8. During this year, 2,600 outpatient consultations were registered and from now on, with the new facilities, it will serve to provide general medicine outpatient consultation services and follow-up on prenatal care programs. , growth and development for infants, care for the elderly, by the nursing and general dentistry service, in addition to taking laboratory samples.
Since 2022, the company has been committed to contributing to improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of Payandé, supporting the general practitioner and the nurse at the health center.
