International organization Save the Children said that in 2022, one sixth of the world’s children will live in conflict-affected areas. About forty-seven (46.8) crore children have lived in war and conflict-ridden areas. Save the Children also stated that crimes and violence once morest children have increased by almost 13 percent. Every day, 76 children are victims of violence in conflicts and wars.

Save the Children, an organization that has been fighting for children’s rights for more than 100 years, has released these figures in a press release released yesterday, publishing a report called “End the War on Children”, which includes information on children suffering from war. The organization warned that these figures will increase further in 2023 due to ongoing conflicts in the Gaza Strip and Sudan.

Save the Children said attacks on schools and hospitals rose by 74 per cent last year, with children being attacked more often in places where they should be safe. While 1,323 such attacks were reported in 2021, it increased to 2,308 in 2022.

The report called on the international community to make every effort to ensure that parties involved in conflicts do not commit attacks on children and ensure the protection of children.
