2023-12-14 08:46:00

The head clerk of the Walloon parliament, Frédéric Janssens, will demand, before the assembly’s Chamber of Appeal where he is heard this Thursday in the company of his lawyer Pierre Joassart, the end of the disciplinary procedure launched once morest him.

“I have many arguments to put forward and I intend to be extremely clear before the Board of Appeal. I request an end to the disciplinary procedure”he said Thursday morning upon his arrival at the regional parliament.

At the end of October, the Bureau of the assembly proposed the automatic resignation of the clerk in title, already suspended since September 2022 in the wake of the revelations on the slippage of parliamentary expenses, linked in particular to the House of Parliamentarians and the pedestrian tunnel connecting the parking lot to the building.

Made up of five staff members, the Chamber of Appeal – referred to last month by Frédéric Janssens – has two months to deliver a non-binding opinion to the Parliament’s Office. The latter will in turn have two additional months to confirm or refute his decision.
