The Software and Entertainment Association (ESA in English) will stop holding the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) video game conferencefollowing more than two decades.
The sad announcement comes months following its edition was canceled in June because the most relevant video game companies announced that they would not participate in this meeting.
In its temporary pause, the ESA had announced that E3 had not managed to “gain the necessary sustained interest” to show “the size, strength and impact” of the video game industry.
This way, the organization announced this week the end of E3which will not be celebrated next year 2024 “following more than two decades.”

The first E3 fair
The first E3 fair took place in May 1995 and brought together different players and developers. «The time has come to say goodbye”, reported from ESA.
The last E3 that was held in person was in 2019. A year later, with the Covid pandemic, it had to be canceled to be held online in 2021. In 2022, E3 also did not take place.
