Lobitangas suffer third consecutive defeat in the Nelson Mandela Cup – news

Académica do Lobito, under the command of João Pintar da Silva, suffered, yesterday, the third consecutive defeat in the Confederation Cup, aka Nelson Mandela.

In the third round of group C of the competition, played at the 11 de Novembro Stadium, in the country’s capital, the Lobitangas lost to Dreams from Ghana by three balls to two.

The Angolan ambassador’s goals were scored by Valonga Basilio and Cachimbombo, with Aziz Issah, Antwi and Avocevou scoring the Ghana team’s goals.

The Lobitangas were below what was expected, they were unable to keep up with the opponent’s speed, which allowed the visiting team to exploit their best characteristics.

Both teams will meet once more on the 20th of this month, at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium, for the fourth round. In the other match, Rivers United beat Club Africain, due to an unanswered ball.

Due to this result, the Angolan team remains in last position without any points.

In the first round, the academics lost to Rivers United, by three unanswered balls. In the second meeting, the Lobitangas lost to Club Africain from Tunisia by three balls to one.

It should be noted that Club Africain, Rivers United and Dreams share the lead in series C with six points each. At this stage, the students have a record of three goals scored, as well as nine conceded.
