A big name from the Liberals arrives on the Anderlecht list. Former political advisor to Louis Michel, municipal councilor for 20 years in Mons, Minister of Culture, regional and federal deputy, Richard Miller will be registered on the MR list for the municipal elections in Anderlecht in 2024.
At 69 years old, the ULBist who also made a detour to the editorial staff of Le Soir has co-owned a house in Anderlecht for more than 25 years and has lived in the town since 2019.
Things are heating up at the management of the municipality of Anderlecht: “In 10 years, I have never been under such pressure to withdraw a file”
”My conviction is that all democrats have an obligation to do everything possible to preserve the virtues and benefits of democracy. The reason is the rise of right and left extremism, communitarianism, populist rejection of institutions… We must find the path to reason,” explains the main person concerned.
“I don’t come as Mr. Know-It-All”
”This must be done by starting things from the start, on the ground, and therefore at the municipal level. In the street where I live (rue de la Sincerité, Editor’s note) my direct neighbors are Spanish, Turkish, African, Pakistani and Moroccan… We share the same problems with garbage collection, illegal dumping of rubbish, insecurity or the feeling of insecurity near the Aumale station, the difficulties in getting to the center of Brussels by car… We want to resolve all these aspects but this can only be done by listening to people: in other words, I don’t Don’t come as a “Mr know-it-all”: I’m going to seek information to find out what people are going through – the youngest, particularly those of Muslim faith, as well as the oldest – to hear what they want… “

The MR list will, in all likelihood, be led by former mayor Gaëtan Van Goidsenhoven. The positions of the candidates and therefore of Richard Miller have not been decided at the moment.
