The monarchy spent their summer vacation in the fashionable seaside resort of Abbazzia (Opatija). On site you can enjoy the amenities of your hotel. Stroll along the Kaiser Franz Josef waterfront promenade, also called Lungomare, which leads to Lovran. Along this 12 km long promenade, in addition to lovely bays, there are also many well-preserved villas from the time of the Danube Monarchy. A trip by ship along the Kvarna Bay to the Cultural Capital 2020 Rijeka, as well as to the former k.&.k. naval port Pula round off the Imperial Adriatic Days 2024.
With the “Majestic Imperator Train”, Commercial Councilor Gottfried O. Rieck has brought new life to the original kuk court salon train of Emperor Franz Joseph and his wife Elisabeth from 1891. The k. & k. Hofsalonzug was the Imperial Austrian court train used by the Emperors Franz Joseph I and Charles I. It was commissioned in 1891 by all Austrian railway administrations by the k. & k. Commissioned by the General Directorate of the Austrian Railways and built by the Ringhoffer company in Prague. The last trip for the imperial family took place on March 23, 1919, when Emperor and King Charles I traveled with his family into exile in Switzerland. Today only one carriage from the original train from 1891 still exists. The magnificent dining car from the court train is on display in the National Technical Museum in Prague.
