Since the release of Starfield, players of Bethesda’s latest RPG have been building wish lists of features they’d like to see in the game soon.City maps, module support, etc. have always been at the top of the list. In the recent Reddit postBethesda revealed it’s been listening.
The post began discussing the recently released smaller fixes for Starfield and revealed that a new, larger update will be coming in 2024. “We’ve been working hard to resolve many of the issues you posted and expect an update early next year that will include a number of ‘in-progress’ mission fixes as well as FSR3 and XeSS. While we’ve fixed several mission issues, there are no ongoing mission fixes Harder to fix, we’ve put in place a new system to correct these issues without having to roll back saves.
“We’re also working hard on many of the new features you requested,” the post continued. “From city maps, to mod support, to all new ways to travel (stay tuned! These will be rolling out fixes and updates on a regular basis, which we expect to happen regarding every six weeks. If it can be done with smaller fixes in between like Asteroids) and we feel it’s safe, then we’ll remove one of those as well. Safety is key here. We really need to spend a lot of time testing even the smallest of things in such a large and dynamic game The change.
While mod support and city maps are self-explanatory, players are curious regarding what the new form of travel might mean. Whatever these new methods are, let’s hope they give the RPG some new bones.
