Upper Austria Ladies Linz 2024: Young Ladies Wild Card Challenge for WTA Qualification

In the run-up to the Upper Austria Ladies Linz 2024 it will take place on the 20th/21st. January once more for a qualification wildcard.

The upgrade to the WTA 500 event is also a special incentive for the ÖTV talents, combined with the chance to present themselves on the world stage of women’s tennis. Because the prelude to the Upper Austria Ladies Linz 2024 (January 28th to February 4th) is once once more the Young Ladies Wild Card Challenge, which started in 2018 and takes place on January 20th/21st. January will be held at the Froschberg Tennis Center. Eight Austrian players (U26) are fighting for a coveted free ticket, which entitles the winner of the challenge to take part in the qualification for the WTA tournament.

ÖTV sports coordinator Marion Maruska said regarding the great event: “I am pleased that Sandra and I launched this challenge together. The young players have a great opportunity to present themselves and be able to qualify if they win the WTA tournament. By upgrading to a WTA 500, you can get to know the stars and gain valuable experience for your own tennis. Thanks to Sandra Reichel and her team for their collaboration.”

“Yes, it is great that we can hold this Wild Card Challenge in collaboration with the Austrian and Upper Austrian Tennis Associations. It is always close to my heart to offer our young players this platform,” said tournament director Sandra Reichel.
