CHICAGO (AP) — Reggie Jackson scored 25 points and the depleted Denver Nuggets defeated the Chicago Bulls 114-106 on Tuesday, despite losing star Nikola Jokic to an ejection in the second quarter.
Michael Porter Jr. added 17 points and Aaron Gordon finished with 14, in addition to capturing seven rebounds and distributing six assists. Thus, Denver took a hard-fought victory for the second night in a row — on Monday, they won 129-122 in Atlanta.
Julian Strawther added 16 points to the Nuggets’ cause.
Jackson hit five 3-pointers for the reigning NBA champions, who made 14 of their 30 shots from behind the arc. The Nuggets also beat the Bulls 123-101 in Denver on November 4.
It was unclear what exactly Jokic did to earn the expulsion. It appeared that the Serbian, twice named NBA Most Valuable Player, was fouled while missing a layup with his back turned with 1:12 left in the first half.
He would have said something in the direction of a referee, while returning to the other side of the field.
