The result of an exclusive division for Latin American countries, the Star+, a streaming service owned by The Walt Disney Company, will come to an end next year. The productions present on the platform will be integrated into the Disney+in the company’s strategy to centralize its content under a single brand.

In an official statement sent to the press, the company announced today that the change will come into effect from the second quarter of 2024. More details, such as a likely adjustment to the amount currently charged for Disney+ individually, are still a mystery and will be “announced later”.

For Diego Lernerpresident of The Walt Disney Company in Latin America, the integration will allow the “unmatched strength” of the group’s content to be available in a single application — which will provide subscribers with “an improved and superior experience, as well as simplified access” to productions.

With this integration, Disney+ subscribers will be able, with a single subscription, to watch films and series from labels such as 20th Century Studios, FX, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars and National Geographic — not to mention sports programming from ESPN, the rights holder. broadcasting tournaments such as the Copa Libertadores da América.

It is worth noting that Disney is not the only company preparing changes in this regard for Brazil. Starting next year, HBO Max will be replaced by Max, a service that will also feature content from Discovery+ — a change that has already come into effect in the United States this year, by the way.
