A Baldur’s Gate 3 player lost “embarrassingly” in Honor Mode because Gratouille decided to play fetch at the worst possible time.
The Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 5 update arrived at the end of November, bringing its share of changes and new content. One addition, in particular, concerns a new mode which has considerably increased the overall difficulty of the game: Honor Mode.
This version of the experience removes the player’s ability to freely save, amplifying the risk of permadeath. Some users were even afraid that certain elements like the dice would work once morest them in Honor Mode.

Now it seems that even man’s best friend is following those who dare attempt Honor Mode.
Itchy causes loss “ embarrassing » from a Baldur’s Gate 3 player in Honor Mode
Scratchy is one of BG3’s fan-favorite companions, but one person learned the hard way that the friendly dog’s usually adorable actions can lead to chaos.
The user u/PoliticalBudgie shared his experience on Reddit. He wrote : ” I thought I would get the elusive d20 on my first attempt [en Mode Honneur]and I was wrong because of Gratouille ».
While trying to save Nere at Grym’s Forge, the player threw a Runedust to blow up the surrounding rocks. The rescue attempt should have gone smoothly, but Scratchy then thought Runepowder’s throw was a game.

This misstep in Honor Mode isn’t the first time Gratouille has acted up. And it probably won’t be the last time either.
Needless to say, users in the Reddit thread laughed a lot regarding this story. One person joked: “ A crazy death lmao, it’s like the dog that brings you a [bâton] dynamite ».

Someone else added: “ Damn, I would pay to see a replay and your reaction ».
But some people think the original poster should take most of the blame for Gratouille’s behavior. After all, you don’t need to cast Runedust for it to work as intended. “ Why did you THROW the runedust when you just need to PUT IT DOWN? » someone asked.
Another Baldur’s Gate 3 fan added, “ And that’s another reason why I leave pets at camp. But it’s so funny ».

Clearly, those attempting an Honor Mode run should be wary of what they throw when Scratchy is nearby.
