Egypt’s 2024 Presidential Election: Mustafa Younes and the Voting Process

The voting process in the 2024 presidential elections began the day before yesterday, Sunday, following the end of the electoral silence period and the cessation of electoral propaganda for candidates in the presidential elections.

The 2024 presidential elections are the fifth multi-party presidential elections that the country has witnessed in its modern history. The 2024 elections gain their additional importance from being a major step in the country’s path towards democratic transformation, party pluralism and political competitiveness, which came following a year and a half of serious and unprecedented national dialogue, which included all components Egyptian political, union and civil society.

The list of candidates in the presidential elections includes: presidential candidate Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, symbol of the star, presidential candidate Farid Zahran, head of the Egyptian Democratic Party, symbol of the sun, presidential candidate Abdel-Sanad Yamama, head of the Wafd Party, symbol of the palm tree, and presidential candidate Hazem Omar, symbol of peace.

The 2024 presidential elections will be held in Egypt according to the schedule set by the National Elections Authority on December 10, 11, and 12, with voting starting from nine in the morning until nine in the evening. December 13 has been set for the end of the counting process, sending the records to the general committees, and announcing the results on December 18.
