The only woman of the six captured, from the gang of residential thieves that had hit Doral, South Florida, is the girlfriend of the former soccer player from the Santa Fe capital team, who was also arrested in that operation.

The Colombians, captured by the authorities of Miami and Doral, are the authors of at least a dozen robberies, including a luxurious residence located near 25 Terrace in Doral.
The player Camilo Charria was captured along with five other Colombians.

The members of the band were Kevin Yesith Zuluaga, Ángel Alejandro Rojas Morales, Andrey Vega Perea, Jarol Duván Zuluaga León, Andrés Charria Cardona and Paula Vanessa Echavarría, Charria’s girlfriend. The latter was a soccer player for teams like Santa Fe where he served as a striker and also for Tigres FC.
Each of them had a role in the residential robberies. “The young criminals wore hoods and even a radio switch to interfere with police communications,” local sources said.

The function that Echavarría fulfilled, during the robberies, was to wait in high-end cars for the other members of the gang and then flee with the stolen belongings.

On the social networks of the footballer and Echavarría they showed their romantic relationship through photos and videos accompanied by messages and dedications.

Charria and Echavarría had been living in the United States for a year, fulfilling the American dream, following the soccer player decided to end his sports career to dedicate himself to working and earning money in that country.

EL TIEMPO contacted Charria Cardona’s relatives who assured that they do not have much knowledge of the situation because they have only been able to communicate with the soccer player once.
“We had a call of less than a minute with him, in which he told us that he was fine but we don’t know more. We are looking with the lawyer at the possibility of establishing a right to petition and thus be able to make a video call to communicate,” said Humberto Charria, the footballer’s brother.

The former player’s relative also said: “Camilo is detained waiting for the trial to be held once morest him. At this moment he has a court-appointed lawyer. They told us that in more or less 20 days the trial would be held in court. in order to know the sentence.”
So far, Charria’s relatives assured that they are carrying out procedures with the Colombian consulate in the United States, where they hope to be informed if the former soccer player will be deported or will serve a sentence in that country.
