The National Athletics Team, for both sexes, performed well in the 42nd edition of the 21-kilometre Macau International Half Marathon, which took place last Friday, in China.
The vice-president of the Angolan Athletics Federation (FAA), Jorge Cruz, pointed out that Ernestina Paulino, an Interclube athlete, finished in third place, while Jeremias Kandungo occupied seventh place.
Jorge Cruz was satisfied with the Angolan team’s performance in the competition, highlighting that athletics has been taking significant steps.
It should be noted that the Angolan representatives disembarked, yesterday, at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, in the followingnoon with a feeling of accomplishment.
“Satisfied with the performance at this event. Our athletics is to be congratulated and we want to continue to progress,” she said.
The event was attended by twelve thousand athletes from 47 countries and regions, including representatives from China, Kenya, Ethiopia, Morocco and Russia.
It should be noted that the event was attended by teams from the Portuguese-speaking community, namely Guinea Bissau, Cape Verde, Angola, India and Mozambique.
