Os pet owners will be able to access something new from Uber. This is the Uber Pet, a modality that allows travel to owners who are accompanied by their pets. Initially, the new feature will be implemented as a pilot in the main regions of Curitiba and will be gradually expanded.
Silvia Penna is the company’s general director in Brazil and commented on the new functionality:
We know how much our pet is part of our family and it’s not always easy to take him to some appointments. With this in mind and always improving the experience of users, who have requested the modality so much, we are happy to launch Uber Pet in Brazil, starting in Curitiba.
In general, the new feature will work in a similar way to Uber Reserve. Reservations, in this case, must be made at least 30 minutes in advance and will be exclusive to dogs and cats. In fact, the company also recommends that animals be transported in bags and travel boxes, in addition to wearing collars and muzzles.
Another guideline is the use of towels to protect the driver’s vehicle. Furthermore, the user is responsible for controlling their animal and complying with the rules of the sport. Therefore, it will not be possible to travel with unaccompanied animals. Pilot analysis will be essential to expand the new option to more cities in 2024.
Travel requests on Uber Pet are optional for partner drivers and they must review and accept the terms and conditions of the modality. Likewise, the races will have an identification that helps signal the functionality’s trips. The option will appear as available following choosing the departure and destination locations.
Then, the user must choose the day and time of the race and confirm their reservation. So, just confirm your reservation. The modality will also appear as an option when accessing the “Reserve” icon in the app. Finally, check out the discounts offered on rides to deliver donations and the possibility of Uber selling eSIMs in its app for Android and iOS.
