Kentucky Wildcats Basketball: Predictions, Rankings, and News

2023-12-11 11:00:00

It was less than two weeks ago when the then-No. 12 Kentucky Wildcats completely dismantled the then-No. 8 Miami Hurricanes in a 95-73 blowout victory. Since then, Kentucky has shockingly lost to UNC-Wilmington and scraped past Pennsylvania.

During this time, the Wildcats have also been a bit more up and down with their offensive efficiency than they were early on to start the year. Combine that with the UK dealing with multiple injuries to key players, and losing to UNC-Wilmington becomes a real possibility.

But on Saturday, now-ranked No. 16 Kentucky will face off once morest now-ranked No. 9 North Carolina in the CBS Sports Classic, hosted in Atlanta this year. A win for Kentucky would work wonders for their resume, while a loss wouldn’t qualify as very uplifting. Winning further proves Kentucky is a legitimate team and gives head coach John Calipari’s young core of players a confidence boost ahead of conference play that begins in January.

So, which team will Big Blue Nation watch on Saturday? The flashy, efficient offensive juggernaut that is UK, or will North Carolina overwhelm UK with both size and experience?

We’ll find out soon enough. The tip-off for Saturday’s game is scheduled for 5:30 pm ET.

Now, where do you think Kentucky should be in the new college basketball rankings? And how do you see Cats vs. Heels playing out?

We will update his post throughout the day as the latest rankings are released!
