On December 11, the Beijing Survey Team of the National Bureau of Statistics released data showing that in November, the residential consumer market was well supplied, demand fell seasonally, and the month-on-month decline in consumer prices expanded. From a month-on-month perspective, CPI fell by 0.4% month-on-month, and the decline expanded by 0.1 percentage points from the previous month. Among them, food prices fell by 0.7%, and the decline narrowed by 0.6 percentage points from the previous month, affecting the CPI to fall by regarding 0.10 percentage points. Among foods, the supply of main fresh food is sufficient, with the prices of pork, eggs and fresh vegetables falling by 4.5%, 2.4% and 1.5% respectively; the prices of grain, edible oil, beef, mutton and poultry have fallen between 0.9% and 2.6%; Fresh fruit prices increased seasonally by 4.9%. Non-food prices fell by 0.4%, an increase of 0.3 percentage points from the previous month, affecting the CPI to fall by regarding 0.32 percentage points.

Among non-food items, travel demand fell seasonally, with hotel accommodation, travel agency charges and air ticket prices falling by 8.8%, 2.4% and 2.0% respectively. Affected by fluctuations in international oil prices, domestic gasoline and diesel prices fell by 2.8% and 2.9% respectively.

From a year-on-year perspective, CPI dropped by 0.3% year-on-year from being flat last month, and prices of food and industrial consumer goods continued to decline this month. Food prices fell by 5.4%, an increase of 0.8 percentage points from the previous month, affecting the CPI to fall by approximately 0.79 percentage points. Among foods, the prices of pork, eggs and fresh vegetables dropped by 33.0%, 9.3% and 8.3% respectively, which together affected the CPI by regarding 0.50 percentage points; the prices of beef, mutton and milk dropped more, with a decrease of between 5.1% and 9.3%. Non-food prices increased by 0.6%, a decrease of 0.2 percentage points from the previous month, affecting the CPI increase by regarding 0.51 percentage points.

Among non-food products, the price of industrial consumer goods fell by 1.0%, an increase of 0.8 percentage points from the previous month, affecting the CPI to fall by regarding 0.28 percentage points. Among them, the price of gasoline dropped by 2.8% from a 1.9% increase in the previous month. Service prices increased by 1.4%, an increase of 0.1 percentage points from the previous month. Among them, travel agency fees, hotel accommodation and air ticket prices increased by 20.1%, 12.3% and 11.6% respectively.
