After long months of searching, Sporting de Charleroi finally found an investor in the American David Helmer. This new arrival should allow Mehdi Bayatuntil now too lonely at the head of Sporting, to take a breather.

The strategic decisions for the future of the club will now be in the hands of David Helmer, Fabien Debecq and Mehdi Bayat, while the general director Pierre-Yves Hendrickx will continue to ensure the daily management of the club with Bayat.

After the press conference, Mehdi Bayat spoke to our microphone regarding his mental health: “I was above the burnout threshold. When we no longer realize how much pressure we are constantly under. When you are harming your body. This is a reality that many football club managers experience. We don’t talk regarding it often but it’s a reality. My personal goal is to be able to bring some order to this level in my life.“.

With her new role, Mehdi Bayat will now have a little more time to devote to her family.

I remain human. I am a loving husband and a loving father of two daughters. Maybe I’ll be able to take care of them a little more. But I will always remain a hyperactive person. It’s part of my personality so I don’t think I’ll easily be able to completely detach myself. This is not my wish. The objective is to better distribute the roles and make it a pleasure once more. You must be able to manage your private life as well as your professional life well. Leaders must pay attention“, he concluded at the microphone of Sofia Cotsoglou.
