This Sunday followingnoon, a march once morest anti-Semitism is taking place at the call of not only three organizations, the CCOJB (Coordination Committee of Jewish Organizations in Belgium), the Forum der Joodse Organisaties and the Belgian League once morest Anti-Semitism. Many personalities will also be present, from Salvatore Adamo to Marc Uyttendaele via the Dardenne brothers, Amélie Nothomb, Christian Clavier, etc..

These figures and Jewish organizations note “with concern regarding the physical attacks once morest Jews as well as the release of anti-Semitic speech at work in our streets, on the screens and in the comments of citizens and elected officials.

Political controversy

But as soon as the organization of this march was announced, a controversy arose. It comes from more than one of the organizers, Joël Rubinfeld, founding president of the Belgian League Against Anti-Semitism (LBCA). In a post onhe believed that not only the far-right micro-party Chez We did not have, “no more than party representatives @Ecolo, @PSofficiel or @ptbbelgique, its place in this National March once morest Anti-Semitism”. Controversy assured, especially as its detractors point out, as it comes from a former vice-president of the Popular Party, close to the radical right.

The gathering is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Place de la Chapelle in Brussels. The march will end at Place Poelaert, opposite the Palais de Justice where speeches are planned.
