Doha: Qatar has replaced the national team coach with only one month left for the Asian Cup football. Portugal’s Carlos Queiroz, who was appointed following the World Cup football, was left out and Spaniard Marques Lopez was appointed as the new coach.
61-year-old Marcus Lopez is currently the coach of Qatar Stars League club Al Wakrah Sports Club. On January 12, when the Asian Cup football match is regarding to kick off in Qatar’s soil, Carlos Queiroz will be removed from the coaching position of Qatar, who are also the current champions, through an unexpected move.

The Qatar Football Association said in a statement that Queiroz is stepping down from the position of coach by mutual agreement between the two factions.
