Fuel price check by the mobility club shows falling prices
Vienna (OTS) – The current ÖAMTC evaluation shows that the trend of falling fuel prices continued in November. You paid an average of 1.567 euros for a liter of Super, which is less than 1.60 euros for the first time since July. The monthly average diesel price was 1.687 euros, six cents below the previous month’s price. Since August 2023, diesel has been consistently more expensive than super – last month it was an average of twelve cents. Diesel prices in particular continue to be clearly decoupled from crude oil prices – this type of fuel is far more expensive than crude oil prices would suggest.
According to data from the EU Oil Bulletin, an easing in fuel prices can also be observed in Austria’s EU neighbors. Italy in particular shows that there is still scope for further reductions. There, the monthly average gross prices for diesel fell by eight cents and for Super even by ten cents compared to October.
When it comes to the maximum prices that you usually pay at motorway filling stations, little has changed compared to October: there you still pay liter prices of up to 2,199 euros for diesel and 2,149 euros for super. This clearly shows how important timely and, above all, well-planned refueling stops are. The ÖAMTC apps and websites help you find the cheapest gas station. A look at the ÖAMTC route planner can also help you save on gas, for example on a ski trip, as the cheap gas stations are displayed along the route.
By the way, you should avoid letting the engine warm up in cold temperatures. This not only harms the environment, but also costs unnecessary fuel because more fuel is needed when it is cold. In addition, it is also a criminal offense and can cost up to 10,000 euros. Driving off immediately to gently reach the engine temperature saves money and also helps the environment.
