Apple has released beta RC versions (Release Candidate, that is, versions that should come close to the final stable version) of iOS 17.2, watchOS 10.2, macOS 14.2 and tvOS 17.2 systems. The final systems should be ready later this month.
The mobile system will introduce the new Journal. The function of this application is to record the user’s daily life to keep track of important things that happened in their life. However, the Apple app has a big difference compared to a paper diary, as it allows you to add photos, music, locations, videos, voice recordings and even physical exercises to remember special moments.
Announced during WWDC 2023, the Journal also features a suggestion system so that the user does not run out of ideas when faced with a blank page. To do this, iOS will use exercise data to suggest records, walks, hikes, Apple Music data to indicate new and favorite songs.
Photos and videos captured with your cell phone may also appear as suggestions for places visited so that your diary becomes richer and you can remember unique dates.
Since the first beta, there are also new weather widgets for details, daily forecast, and sunrise and sunset on iOS and macOS, as well as a new analog clock on iPhone and iPad. Books also have a new page turning animation option. The update also includes spatial video capture for viewing on Apple Vision Pro.
