A fresh cheese with a unique texture and delicate flavor. A firm mozzarella that reveals a creamy and stringy heart. A creamy heart wrapped in a thin skin of spun dough, made from buffalo or cow’s milk.
Burrata is an Italian culinary treasure originating from the Puglia region. A treasure that turns the heads and taste buds of many of us. This is why Chloé and Alex had the idea of creating a burrata bar…
The establishment The Burra Bar took place at 14 rue Venizelos, a premises previously occupied by a dog groomer.
“I had seen this kind of bar in Italy”
“I had seen this kind of bar during my vacation in Italy. I wanted to try it here…” says Chloé, a Parisian who attended the Vatel school before moving to the South.
Alex, a true Cannes resident, whom she had met in a first life focused on real estate, did not take long to decide to follow her… “Five seconds I think”, smiles the young man during his morning set-up.
In this nice little place, which the owners describe as “high-end snack”, the customer can enjoy generous portions, a soup of the week, pasta and focaccia. Always topped with burrata of course.
Five kinds of burrata
“We have the classic from Puglia, the one with local truffle, the one with gorgonzola, goat cheese and the smoked mozzarella (like a scarmozza but soft)”.
As for the formula, count on a single dish with a burrata at €13.90; or a dish with burrata and a drink, €15.50.
And if you take the main course with burrata, a drink and a dessert, you will pay €17.90.
For desserts, Chloé and Alex have launched their tiramisu, offering white cheeses and sweet focaccia.
