The streaming giant Netflix continues its great epic in the video game sector. This time, it’s a resolutely cult trilogy which will soon join the platform’s gaming catalog: GTA III, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas will arrive on your mobile on December 14.
A fortnight before the Christmas holidays, the platform at the red N gives us a (very) nice surprise. As the long-awaited release of GTA 6 on console looms, Netflix announced that GTA III, GTA: Vice City and the legendary GTA: San Andreas were arriving on its platform dedicated to gaming.
GTA on Netflix: see you on December 14
The platform that makes TUDUM shared the big news with us on November 29. The three opuses, released on consoles of the time (PlayStation and Xbox) as well as on PC between 2001 and 2004, will arrive on December 14 on Netflix Games. As a reminder, the games in the Grand Theft Auto franchise are among the most popular titles in history, with millions of players. The latest opus GTA V, released in 2013, is the second best-selling video game in the world, with no less than 185 million copies sold.
While this news will certainly delight video game fans and Netflix subscribers, the arrival of the three cult GTA games also symbolizes the platform’s desire to establish itself in the gaming sector, facing fierce competitors such as Luna , Amazon’s cloud gaming service. As a reminder, Netflix’s gaming catalog is currently expanding. At the start of the year, the streaming platform announced the big arrival of the classic Tomb Raider Reloaded. Then, immediately, the Monument Valley games (1 and 2) were announced for the start of 2024.
The first trailer for GTA 6 revealed
In parallel with Netflix’s announcement, the next GTA VI opus continues to be talked regarding. While fans around the world have been waiting for the game for more than a decade, publisher Rockstar Games shared the very first trailer for the next game on December 5. In this short video, we discover the two main characters of this new opus. : a man and his companion, a woman named Lucia. For the moment, no official date. At the end of the trailer, Rockstar Games indicates, however, that this GTA VI, described as the most anticipated game in the world, will be released in 2025.
