On the same day in the football calendar, a play-off match for a place in Ligue 1 for the 2024/25 season is scheduled between the 16th team of the French championship and the third team of Ligue 2.

How reports Le Progres, all tickets for the Taylor Swift concert have long been sold out. Probably, the organizers of the concert and representatives of the club did not expect that Lyon would be a participant in the struggle for survival in the French top division. If Lyon find themselves in the scraps, the club will have to find another venue to host their home leg of the two-round clash with a promotion contender, which might reduce the chances of a successful outcome.

Lyon is one of the most successful clubs in France – in the 21st century, the team won the French championship seven times in a row. However, this season the “weavers” are in last place by the middle of the championship. The titled team faces direct relegation to League 2. At the moment, the Lyon team is 5 points short of 16th place, which will allow them to participate in the playoffs.

Lyon have already changed their head coach twice during the season. First, 1998 world champion Laurent Blanc was fired, and last week another former world champion, Italian Fabio Grosso. The team is currently headed by Pierre Sage, who has not previously worked as a coach for an adult team.

Taylor Swift often appears at sporting events in the United States, most notably at matches of the American football team, the Kansas City Chiefs. Currently, the singer is in a relationship with a player from this team, Travis Kelsey.
