Beyond sporting questions and discussions relating to national team coaches, this was perhaps the most serious issue for Swiss football: who would become the main partner of the Swiss Football Association (ASF) once once the disappearance of the Credit Suisse brand has been recorded? The answer came on Tuesday via press release: not content with having bought its former competitor, the UBS bank was also going to resume its sponsorship commitment current since 1993.
“Today is a historic day for Swiss football. We are grateful and happy to have UBS as a strong partner at our side and to continue moving towards the future on solid foundations,” rejoices Dominique Blanc, president of the ASF, in the text sent to the media. The signed contract extends from July 2024, when the brand will make its appearance in the decorum of Swiss football, to at least June 2028. This will notably cover the period during which Switzerland will organize the Women’s Euro 2025.
