In a joint operation between the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela and the Republic of France, a vessel transporting 3,500 kilograms of cocaine was intercepted.

Following intelligence work, the coast guard units of both countries obstructed the passage of the ship “Don Teófilo” 260 nautical miles southwest of the island of Barbados, and captured eight Venezuelan citizens, according to a press release from Mpprijp.

During the operation, the existence of 119 bales of drugs were detected, weighing 3,500 kilograms of cocaine. It was learned that the vessel sailed legally from the state of Sucre, with the respective inspections, so it is presumed that the drugs were acquired on the high seas with an unknown destination.

Finally, he highlighted that the Bolivarian Government continues the fight once morest transnational organized crime, leveraged in the 2nd Vertex of the Great Quadrants of Peace Mission, which orders the implementation of strategies for the frontal fight once morest the drug problem.
