Vaccination Reorganization and Prioritization for Seniors During Strike Days – CIUSSS MCQ Updates

REGIONAL. Due to strike days planned for December 8 to 14, a reorganization of vaccination activities will be carried out in order to prioritize the vaccination of seniors, reports the CIUSSS MCQ.

As a result, certain mobile flu and COVID-19 vaccination clinics in municipalities across the region must be canceled.

Here are the mobile walk-in clinics that will be maintained:

Nicolet: December 5 Wickham: December 5 Gentilly: December 5 Saint-Grégoire: December 6 Sainte-Angèle-de-Laval: December 6 Saint-Léonard-d’Aston: December 6 Pierreville: December 15 Sainte-Brigitte-des-Saults: December 20 Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Conseil: December 20 Saint-Elphège: December 20 Sainte-Perpétue: December 20 Parisville: December 20 Sainte-Françoise: December 20

The primary objective being to offer vaccination quickly to vulnerable people, vaccination in living environments (RPA) is prioritized to protect seniors once morest COVID-19 and the flu.

Since the start of the vaccination campaign on October 4, mobile vaccination teams from the CIUSSS MCQ have visited 36 municipalities throughout the region.

Vaccination maintained and appointments available at local service points

Vaccination is maintained at all local service points. Several appointments are also available on Clic santé or by telephone at 1 877 644-4545 for people who wish to be vaccinated.

It should be noted that certain appointments scheduled during the strike days might be moved the same day or in the following days.

Slowdowns to be expected during the strike in different services

During the strike, the population should expect slowdowns or delays in receiving certain services or the postponement of certain appointments.

“We will ensure that we put in place the necessary measures to provide safe care and services to the population, while respecting the right of negotiation of our staff,” says the CIUSSS MCQ.

“People requiring urgent care should not hesitate to come to our facilities to consult a health professional. We are calling on the cooperation of the population in order to remain courteous and respectful towards our staff,” he concludes.
