Porter Airlines has exercised its purchasing rights to place a new firm order for 25 E195-E2 jets. The new firm order adds to the 50 jets already ordered by the Canadian airline. Porter Airlines will use its fleet of Embraer jets to expand its award-winning service to destinations in North America. The agreement, valued at US$2.1 billion at list price, will be added to the firm order book for the fourth quarter of 2023. The Canadian airline now has a total of 75 firm orders, with 25 purchase rights remnants.
Porter is the launch customer for the E195-E2 in North America and has already received 24 of the jets ordered so far. Recently, the company announced new destinations, including Las Vegas, Miami, San Francisco and Los Angeles, and also plans to fly to Mexico and the Caribbean. The aircraft operate from eastern Canada, with flights departing from Toronto Pearson International Airport and Ottawa. But other Canadian cities like Halifax and Montreal are also being served by the E195-E2.
Porter jets, with capacity for up to 146 seats, use a comfortable configuration of 132 seats, all in Economy Class, with a variety of space between seats: 36, 34 and 30 inches.
