O Zoom is now also available on Apple TV 4K (2nd generation and later), thanks to a new app that allows users to make calls on their television with the help of a iPhone or iPad via the Continuity Camera feature (Continuity Camera).
The new app appeared in the tvOS App Store over the weekend — without much fanfare — as spotted by ScreenTimes’ Sigmund Judge.
The highly anticipated app brings the company’s communications capabilities to Apple TV 4K (2nd generation) or later and takes advantage of the continuity camera of a nearby iPhone or iPad…
Key Features:
• Start and join Zoom Meetings with one click on your device
• HD video and audio
• Calendar integration
• Invite friends or colleagues via phone, email or Zoom contacts
• View meeting chat
• Ability to be assigned to a break room
Zoom users can log into their account on the Apple TV app using their credentials or by visiting a pairing URL that allows them to access the service on their iPhone/iPad.
It is worth noting that this year, Apple introduced the FaceTime on Apple TV — taking advantage of the same Continuity Camera support to connect to set-top box to your iPhone or iPad.
As stated, Zoom for tvOS requires a second-generation Apple TV 4K or later to use the Continuity Camera, as well as any iPhone or iPad model running iOS/iPadOS 17.
