It was regarding children – so Charlène from Monaco and Caroline from Hanover brought the Monegasque offspring with them to a very special event.

Monaco – While the first snowflakes are falling from the sky in Germany, the ice in the rocky state of Monaco is beginning to melt. For many years, Charlène of Monaco (45) and her sister-in-law Caroline of Hanover (66) were not exactly friends, to say the least. There were no joint appearances; Prince Albert II (65) appeared diplomatically, sometimes with his wife Charlène and sometimes with his sister Caroline.

But since Charlène of Monaco has been working more for the principality once more following a break due to illness, she has been seen more and more often in harmony with Princess Caroline. When two salute cannons were recently put back into operation in Monaco, Charlène not only surprised everyone with hearing protection with her Prada dress, but also with Caroline at her side. Just a few days later, Princess Charlène visited Princess Antoinette Park on the occasion of International Children’s Rights Day.

Charlène had her twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella (8) in tow, who, like their mother, appeared elegant in winter black and beige outfits. Caroline von Hannover didn’t look too deep with her stylish sunglasses, but her broad smile spoke volumes. However, Caroline’s little companion Balthazar Rassam (5) stole the show with his blue balloon sword. The youngest son of Princess Caroline’s daughter Charlotte Casiraghi (37) is rarely seen in public.

“A real joy”: The end of the ice age between Charlène and Caroline makes fans rejoice

Charlène and Caroline’s rapprochement doesn’t go unnoticed by fans of the Monegasque royal family either. “It is a true joy to see Princess Charlène and her sister-in-law Princess Caroline surrounded by their children and grandchildren uniting for such a great cause,” said one Instagram user. By the way, the first three in line to the throne in Monaco presented themselves at this appointment: Prince Jacques, Princess Gabriella and Caroline of Hanover.

In any case, all the royals seemed to have fun at the event. While little Balthazar proudly clutched his balloon sword, Princess Gabriella actively helped treat a teddy bear. And even though Gabriella and Jacques are now increasingly attending official appointments in the principality, their privacy is sacred to their mother – as she said in the interview News24 revealed, Charlène from Monaco even deleted her Instagram account.
