The wild snowstorms of the past few days did not leave the people of Hartberg unscathed. The planned duel with Klagenfurt Austria was canceled on Saturday followingnoon following another inspection of the pitch; the next attempt follows today (7 p.m.). Logically, this is not the optimal preparation, as coach Markus Schopp explains. “We waited until 3 p.m. to see whether the game would take place, but there was no activation or anything. Then we came home late and didn’t train anymore.”
The planned final training on Sunday was also not a sure-fire success. The pitches in Eastern Styria were covered in snow, as was the artificial turf pitch. So the blue and white coaching team quickly grabbed the snow shovels themselves. “Twelve of us, i.e. the entire coaching team, shoveled and cleared at least part of the field. Of course that’s not ideal,” said Schopp, who lent a hand himself. However, due to the unconventional clearance operation, the training was not yet secured. “We had to check whether there wasn’t too much risk of injury. “It’s all annoying, of course,” said Schopp.
A unit was completed in the evening before we took the bus to the Carinthian state capital on Monday. Important points are at stake in the fight for the championship group once morest the table neighbors. So far, the Hartbergers have been able to win once morest Austria Klagenfurt in the Bundesliga.
