Without a doubt, a well-done fish fillet makes any meal more delicious. But at the same time, it is not always easy to define the best preparation method to make it tasty and juicy.
I confess that I don’t really enjoy grilling or even frying, because of the smell that fills the house. That’s why I always made it in the oven, like this buttery and delicious version.
But following arriving at this preparation method, using the air fryer, I confess to you that it will be difficult to want to do it any other way as it is so practical.
What fish to choose?
The truth is that it doesn’t matter which fish you choose. This recipe will certainly work with both freshwater and saltwater fish.
My only preference is to always opt for a fresh version, because I believe it tastes better. But I know that’s not always an option.
Every time I tested it I did it with fillets, but you can definitely use steaks too.
I don’t have an air fryer, what do I do?
First of all, I warn you: having an air fryer makes everyday life a little easier. And it doesn’t even have to be the most expensive versions, for years I had one of the cheapest on the market and it always served me very well.
But, if even with that argument you don’t want to have one, that’s okay! My tip for you is to prepare this fish in the oven. Just like when preparing it in an oil-free fryer, I recommend placing your fillets on baking paper or non-stick paper and using a temperature slightly higher than that indicated below.
The cooking time should stay very close, but you may not be able to brown it as much as in the air fryer. But it will also be delicious

Delicious, juicy and very easy to make, this air fryer fish fillet recipe is simply perfect!
Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons of olive oil;
- 1/4 cup lemon juice with zest;
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt;
- 500g of fish fillet;
- fresh cilantro or parsley;
- black pepper to taste;
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes – optional.
Instructions
- Start by mixing the olive oil, lemon juice and zest and salt until uniform. Add chopped coriander or parsley in the amount you want;
- So, cover your air fryer basket with non-stick paper (we used a model like this, but it can be the one sold in rolls), arrange your fillets next to each other and season them with salt and pepper to taste;
- Then, drizzle your fillets with the sauce and finish by adding chopped tomatoes on top of the fillets;
- Bake in the air fryer at 200º for 18 to 25 minutes. The time will depend on the thickness of your fillets, the thinner it is, the faster it will be ready;
- Serve immediately.
