Riyadh: The ‘Noor Riyadh’ light festival has started in the capital city of Saudi Arabia. The third edition of the annual festival, which started two years ago, will be staged at Riyadh’s King Abdullah Financial Center under the title ‘A Moon in the Desert Sand’.
More than 100 artists from more than 35 countries of the world, including more than 35 Saudi artists, are participating in the 17-day celebration.
More than 120 works of art are displayed during the Noor Al-Riyad celebration. These are exhibited in five centers namely King Abdullah Financial Center, Jax District in Daraya in the northwest region, Salam Park in the central region, Wadi Hanifa and Wadi Namar. This year’s edition is accompanied by an exhibition titled ‘Creativity Enlightens Us, The Future Brings Us Together’ at the Jax Premises in Daraea. The exhibition will continue till March 2, 2024 with the participation of 32 artists from around the world.
Riyadh Art Program Executive Director Eng. Khaled Al Hasani said. It offers visitors artistic experiences and a variety of activities within a social engagement program. This celebration also contributes to improving the quality of life in the nation’s capital.
Noor Al Riyadh also serves as a platform for artistic and cultural exchange to achieve the objectives of the ‘Riyadh Art’ program and its various projects to nurture local talent and nurture the country’s cultural economy. He also explained that the celebration centers are selected taking into account the importance of places in the city of Riyadh. It helps its visitors to easily reach their desired destinations.

Large-scale light art installations have been set up at five centres. Several buildings are also equipped with light reflections, ‘drone’ displays and interactive artworks. Nur Al-Riyad is run by one of the best teams in the world. He said that these two are participants in the biggest art fairs around the world.
Noor Riyadh is one of the Riyadh art programs. In March 2019, the project was inaugurated by King Salman in the presence of Amir Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Riyadh City Royal Commission. It started with the aim of transforming the city of Riyadh into an open art gallery that combines authenticity and contemporary. It is also in line with the ‘Vision 2030’ program to create opportunities for the residents and visitors of Riyadh to promote the arts.
