The first edition of the winter road race Défi Hivernal de Trois-Rivières, organized by Groupe Physi-K, will take place on February 24 at Parc Masse in the Saint-Louis-de-France sector.
Many runners look for motivation to continue running in winter, despite the snow and cold. In fact, maintaining attendance all winter is not only excellent for mental and physical health, but it also allows runners to maintain or improve their skills throughout the year.
With several winter road and trail running events canceled in recent years, the Physi-K Group team decided to take matters into their own hands for the running community and organize a winter event.
Therefore, the start of the race will take place at Parc Masse in Trois-Rivières. The distances offered will be 5km walk, 5km run, 10km and 15km, retailing between $45 and $65. As part of this first edition, there will be no departure for children due to road safety issues.
The Physi-K Group will donate 50% of the profits to the Jean-Pierre Petit Fund, of the Trois-Rivières health foundation. The Jean-Pierre Petit Fund launches each year a challenge to remain active during the winter while accumulating donations to help people suffering from brain cancer.
